Trevor had been talking about doing the Bobsled run at the Olympic Sports Complex in Lake Placid for weeks. Little did I know that he would con me in to going with him! Definitely a first for both of us!We waited for a while before it was our turn so the kids were able to check out some bobsleds and stand on the medal stand which helped to keep them occupied. Then Trevor and I headed up to the top and got fitted with our helmets. We climbed in with our driver and brake guys and headed down the run. It was fast and jerky, but super fun! We did the half mile track in 42 seconds! Pretty wild! Then we headed to Little Whiteface Mountain to take a Gondola ride to the top. A first for the kids, both seeing mountains and riding a Gondola. It was several degrees cooler at the top of the mountain. We were able to see for miles and overlooked Lake Placid. Very beautiful scenery. After that we headed to High Falls Gorge to hike and see a waterfall. The kids panned for gold and found a couple of pieces along with some pretty stones. We headed back to Aunt Dianne's house and the kids made cookies with her for our after dinner treat. Another fun day on vacation!
